I have now spent the greater part of my life living in Colorado, a state of great beauty and diversity. One can explore mountains and deserts and everything in-between.
All of these drawings have been drawn on location. My procedure is this: I do the initial sketch in the field, often arriving at my destination through a combination of hiking or bicycling, climbing to the best possible location for a view that speaks to me. After I do a pencil drawing, which can take up to three hours, I do the inking and sometimes watercoloring later at home.
